ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation on Tioman ranges from secluded beach resorts in private bays to simple budget chalets in heart of charming seaside villages. The more popular and developed villages lie to the north of the island and except for Juara, all villages are on the island’s western shore.

As Tioman draws scores of weekend visitors, most establishments offer 3 day / 2 night packages that include ferry transfers, meals and a snorkelling trip while other resorts specialize in diving packages. You are also free to design your own holiday by taking your room on a per-night basis and deciding what to see and do in your own time.

Apart from the jungle road that stretches across the island from Tekek to Juara, there are no roads to speak of on Tioman. Getting from one village to the next will involve chartering a boat, taking a sea taxi (where available), hopping on the passing ferry or a sweaty jungle trek on a narrow (and sometimes hilly) footpath.
