Waterfalls

The limestone cliffs and the water-rich rainforest climate have carved out a number of special places on the island where water and gravity combine in a spectacular display. Langkawi’s waterfalls are more impressive during the wet season but are still a beautiful natural display all year round.

Telaga Tujuh – Seven Wells Waterfall
On the north western corner of Langkawi, the Seven Wells waterfall is a stream that cascades down through the surrounding forest into seven pools until it reaches the valley below. Legend has it that this waterfall is the playground of fairies – shy creatures that vanish into the lush forest at the slightest notion of someone approaching.

Durian Perangin
Accessible through a short trek through the forest, this 14-tier waterfall is a dazzling sight. It is located Gunung Raya Park, close to Air Hangat and the clear water flows through some unique vegetation.

Air Terjun Temurun
This waterfall slows down to a trickle in the dry season, but in the rainy season towards the end of the year it is a wonderful sight. The water cascades down for 30 metres, forming a pool at the bottom that is suitable for swimming. These falls are located in the Mat Cincang Park, close to the Datai Golf Club.
