Langkawi Geopark begs to be explored and enjoyed. Please your adventurous side by trying one of the many excursions and sports activities on offer; investigate the legends and local culture; admire nature’s wonders and creatures; check into a spa and be pampered or just relax and soak up the sun and the scenery.

Boat excursions ranging from a couple of hours to an entire day can have you snorkelling or diving in a nearby marine park, drifting in waterways amongst mangrove forests or relaxing on a secluded beach on an uninhabited island. Wildlife such as monkeys and huge monitor lizards roam the island freely and many other living creatures can be seen up close in parks, sanctuaries, aquariums and farms.

The island’s history and culture are fascinating and there are numerous stops along the way that put this on display.

Sport enthusiasts will love the array of water- and adventure sports on offer while golfers have a choice of two scenic courses (a third is under renovation).

On land, public transport is mostly limited to taxis. Renting a car or a motorbike is affordable and gives you the freedom to explore the island and all its many attractions at your own pace. Car rental starts from as little as RM 40 a day, motorbikes from RM 20 and can be arranged at the airport, the jetty, agencies in Kuah and Pantai Cenang and also through most hotels and resorts.
