Diving

Under the surface of the sea’s waves there is an entire world waiting to be discovered. South East Asian seas offer some of the most spectacular diving, with their abundance of coral reefs and tropical marine life. The best diving around Langkawi is at the Pulau Payar Marine Park, which is a one hour boat ride from the main island.

If you are not sure if Scuba Diving is for you or if you do not have the time to do an entire PADI course, introductory diving courses are a perfect way to get your first taste of breathing underwater. Most diving operators offer one-day Discover Scuba Diving courses which include an ocean dive. If you are hooked after that, you can also get your PADI Open water licence through a four-day course.

Several diving operators have trips to Pulau Payar and the ferry to Penang makes a stop at this island on the way to Georgetown.
