True Malaysian hospitality and heritage can be found in this resort. Thirty two houses, built in traditional Malay kampung (village) style, are set on a hilltop overlooking rice paddies. Surrounded by tall trees and lush tropical undergrowth, the vast 46 acres of the Kampung are peaceful and quiet, offering visitors a taste of the laid-back village life that can still be found on this island.
The rooms are spacious and have modern comforts in an age-old setting: Air conditioning, telephone, television and a mini bar are standard features in every room, and the weaved roofs and wood carvings are complimented by traditional fabrics and carpets (see room amenities below). In the mornings, the only sounds that will wake you are the songs of the many birds that have also made Kampung Tok Senik their home.
A visit to Kampung Tok Senik is not complete without enjoying a traditional massage in the spa or taking a refreshing dip in the adjoining swimming pool. A wide variety of traditional activities can be arranged as well, including kite-flying, Silat (a traditional Malay Martial Art) and traditional dance. With preferential rates for guests of Kampung Tok Senik, the Langkawi Snake Sanctuary is just across the road and offers a glimpse into the world of these fascinating creatures in beautiful parkland.
