The Minang Cove resort is built around a tiny private beach cove and is surrounded by lush rainforest and tall mountain peaks on all sides. A small number of rooms and villas are perched on grass terraces amidst giant boulders, with breathtaking views of the blue-green waters of the South China Sea.

The rooms are spacious, private and comfortable, with oversized balconies to take in the beautiful surroundings. Simple, yet with the comforts of home, both the interior and exteriors of the buildings have hints of local inspiration. Room rates include a tasty dinner, breakfast and an afternoon tea break, served with flavour and flair in the airy restaurant, while lunch and drinks are a la carte.

The resort can accommodate a maximum of 42 guests at a time in its nine guest rooms and the three villas. There are no televisions, no cell phone signals, no clocks, no Blackberries and no Internet. These facts, coupled with the picturesque seclusion and the personalised attentiveness of the resort staff translate into an unparalleled escape.

Most come here exactly for that escape: to bathe in the sunshine on the soft sand of the beach or to get revitalised by the fresh air and the natural beauty. For those that cannot bear to sit still, there is plenty to do. The fully equipped dive centre can take you on underwater excursions or equip you with anything from an Open Water to a Dive Master licence. To explore the sea in a different manner, kayaks and snorkelling equipment are also for hire or you can book a round-island boat tour. A two hour jungle trail leads from the resort to the nearby fishing village of Mukut and on to Tioman’s biggest waterfall.

All prices are per person, per night and include half board meals – breakfast, afternoon tea & dinner.
