Air Papan is a secluded sleepy seaside area with a 3 km long beach set in between the hills about 15 km north of Mersing, Johor, Malaysia. The hills sport a variety of flora and trees. As you drive in from the main road you pass a number of rice paddies where one can see egrets feeding on the water-life such as frogs and small fishes.

Other than a few properties and a mosque in the village beach-side area the remainder are dotted around the area. There are a number of home-stay and resort hotels in the area, some with swimming pools and facilities. Many advertise facilities such as BBQ pits, karaoke rooms, fishing rod and cycling and snorkelling equipment. There are also Beach Chalets, with air-con, a few meters from the beach and which can be hired at reasonable rates.
