Great
beach view
| Set
on a hill of giant rocks and tropical plants, all chalets
have verandas with open views out to sea. Built of varnished
wood in a traditional, airy Malaysian style, the chalets
have windows that open from the roof to the floor and
a ceiling fan to waft the air. Bamboo Hill Resort has
an excellent lending library and book exchange. The english
owner Sue travelled to a lot of countries and makes all
her guidebooks here available. They also have a water
purifier so bottles of purified Tioman spring water are
free for all guests. Non-guests can re-fill bottles for
1 RM and use the internet, phone and library service.
The accommodation: Four semi-detached rooms, sleeping
2-3 with a double bed and a low single bed stowed underneath.
One chalet suitable for 2-4 persons with fridge, a double
bed and a double futon sofa bed (suitable for children
only). One chalet (sleeping 2-5) bedroom with double bed
and low single bed stowed underneath. A living room with
a double futon sofa bed suited to children only. A kitchenette
has a sink, a fridge, a toaster, cutlery and crockery
but it is not really set up for major cooking. This is
unnecessary given the numerous restaurants close by. Steps
lead from the veranda directly onto the beach. There is
an optional gate for toddler's safety. |
