The archipelago has been zoned as a marine park in order to protect the surrounding coral reefs and the marine fauna. This environmental conservation and the untouched nature mean that Sibu is a good place to go snorkeling and diving. While the visibility is not always excellent, divers can expect to encounter giant dams, cockles, parrot fish, butterfly fish, sea horses and many other sea creatures amongst the coral reefs here

Angling is one of the most popular activities, almost always organized for veteran fishermen. Although fishing, collecting coral and littering are strictly prohibited within two nautical miles of the island, fishing boat excursions to Unjang and Kelong visits are offered by some resorts. 
Those that want to enjoy nature on land can take the time to walk along the jungle trails that crisscross the island. Trails take around 15-20 minutes and while you will not need special clothing or equipment, a pair of comfortable shoes and an insect-repellent is a must.
