Manukan Island Resort
(GPS: N 05’ 58.521 E 118’ 41.105)

Encompassing all the wondrous colours of nature, Manukan Island Resort (the only one on the island) is a charming beachfront resort whose reefs offer exceptional crystal waters teeming with aquatic life and exquisite corals. As the island lies within Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, it is open to the public (and the opportunity is being taken specially by locals) and can be accessed from Jesselton Point ferry terminal in downtown Kota Kinabalu.

Apart from the beach and watersports, the islet offers also a jungle trekking (which takes approx. 1,5h) and an uphill hike to the sunset point (approx.40mins, which unfortunately might be not worth the effort as the sunset terrace is thickly surrounded by trees and bushes). The resort also has a restaurant and conference room ideal for small- to medium-sized meeting groups.

The resort is operated by Sutera Sanctuary Lodges, under Sutera Harbour Management- the same which owns accommodation on the slopes of Mount Kinabalu in the Kinabalu Park as well as in the Mesilau Nature Resort.
