Let me start by
explaining why the resort is known as Batu Kembar. It gets the name
by the 2 identical rocks (twins as you
may say!!) at the jetty.
It is one of the best resorts at the island. It has 18 rooms which can accommodate up to 70 persons at a time. Accommodation is double decker queen size bed which can accommodate 4 persons in a room. All the rooms have air conditioning but you don't really need it, as it is very cold at night. Frankly, I spend the night sleeping on the balcony. There is a hot shower in the bathroom. The resort has its own electrical generator that supplies power to every room. Transportation around the island is either by boat or .. walk. I'd like to tell you how they get their water supply: The maintenance guy Awi, told me that to get the water is one tough job . He needs to walk about 45 minutes from the resort to the water source. After that he needs to climb up to the entrance of the cave which is about 8 feet high. Then, with the help of his torchlight, he needs to crawl through an 8-metre tunnel before reaching the water source. According to Awi, only one person can go inside the tunnel, as it is very small. He has encountered a king cobra on several occasions while he was crawling towards the water source. I really appreciate the fresh water supply to the rooms. Sooo .. use water wisely! | ||||||||||||
